“Had a really good experience with Travel Nepal Holidays for our Bali trip from Nepal. They planned a really well organized itinerary based on what we wanted and were always quick to respond whenever we needed anything. What I really appreciated was how they kept checking in on us during the trip, even calling just to make sure everything was going well. Whenever we faced any small issue they immediately stepped in and sorted it out. Since we didn’t know anyone in Bali, that kind of support really meant a lot to us. They also arranged a surprise candlelight dinner for us, which honestly made the trip feel even more special. Really happy with the whole experience and would definitely recommend them.”

Planning a Thailand trip from Nepal
What a Nepali passport holder has to arrange for a Thailand trip, in the order it happens: where and when to go, the visa, the money, and what to know after you land. Visa and entry rules change, so each rule here links to the official page it comes from.

Questions
Thailand trip questions, answered
Yes. Thailand does not offer visa-free entry or visa on arrival to Nepali passport holders, including after the rule changes of 15 September 2026, so articles about "visa-free Thailand" do not apply to you. You apply online at thaievisa.go.th, choosing the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu. We prepare the hotel bookings, itinerary and ticket the application needs.
Apply at least one month and no more than three months before you fly. The embassy needs at least seven working days after it receives your fee, and it can take longer. It asks for a confirmed ticket with the application, so book a fare you can change or refund until the visa is approved. The guide above walks through each step.
At least 20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family. The embassy's page gives these as NPR 80,000 and NPR 1,60,000, but at the October 2026 exchange rate they are closer to NPR 92,000 and NPR 1,84,000, so keep the higher amount. The embassy looks for it in your six-month bank statement, and Thai immigration can ask to see cash or cards worth the same amount when you land. A normal transaction history helps more than a large deposit made just before applying.
A passport valid for at least six months, your Thai visa, and the signed self-declaration form, which you download from the TIA Immigration website and fill in at home. For tourists the immigration office also lists a return ticket, hotel bookings, a letter with the details of your sponsor, and USD 500 in foreign currency with your bank's stamp. Keep our tour voucher with them, as officers often ask first-time travellers about their plans.
An online arrival form every foreign visitor must fill in within three days before landing. It is free and only on tdac.immigration.go.th. Sites that charge for it are not official.
Thai Airways and Nepal Airlines fly direct to Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK) in about three and a half hours. Low-cost airlines use Don Mueang (DMK), and their Kathmandu schedules were cut back in 2026, so we check which ones are flying before we quote. If your trip continues to Phuket, Krabi or Chiang Mai by air, the airport matters for the connection.
Tihar, in early November, is better: it is the start of Thailand's cool, dry season. Dashain in mid-October comes at the end of the rains, with afternoon showers in Bangkok and boat trips on the Phuket and Krabi side sometimes cancelled for rough sea. Both holidays are when flights from Kathmandu cost most, so book two to three months ahead.
Yes. Every trip here is a starting point. We can add nights, change the hotel category, swap a tour or join two routes, and we requote the land price for the changes.
Yes, in every city on our routes. Vegetarian Thai and Indian restaurants are common in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, and halal food is easy to find in Bangkok and the south. Many Thai dishes use fish sauce, so ask for "no meat, no fish sauce". Tell us when you book and we note it with the hotels and tour operators.
It is not required for the tourist visa or at the border. We still recommend it, because private hospitals in Thailand usually ask for a deposit or an insurer's guarantee before treating a foreign patient.
