About This Package
Two sides of Thailand in a week. Bangkok for the Grand Palace, the river and the canals, then a short flight north to Chiang Mai, a slower city of temples, markets and mountains.
In Chiang Mai you visit Doi Suthep, spend a half day with elephants at a sanctuary with no riding, and learn to cook Thai food. The flights to Chiang Mai and back are included. Best from November to January.

Practical Tips
- Avoid February to April in Chiang Mai, when smoke from crop burning makes the air unhealthy.
- Temples, including the Grand Palace, ask for covered shoulders and knees. Pack one pair of long trousers or a long skirt.
