Bangkok, Ayutthaya & Kanchanaburi

About This Package
A trip for people interested in history, or for a second visit to Thailand. From Bangkok you spend a day among the ruined temples of Ayutthaya, then drive west to Kanchanaburi, where the Second World War railway and the Bridge on the River Kwai were built.
Kanchanaburi also has the Erawan Falls, seven tiers of turquoise pools you can swim in. Everything is by road, so there are no domestic flights, and no drive is longer than three hours.

Practical Tips
- Wear shoes that can get wet at the Erawan Falls; the path between the tiers is slippery.
- Temples, including the Grand Palace, ask for covered shoulders and knees. Pack one pair of long trousers or a long skirt.
