Singapore Travel Guide
Planning a Singapore trip from Nepal
What a traveller from Nepal has to arrange for Singapore, in the order it happens: when to go and for how long, what immigration asks for, the online arrival card, the flights, the rule that decides a trip with Malaysia, what not to pack, and the money. Entry rules change, so each rule here links to the official page it comes from.

Questions
Singapore trip questions, answered
No. Nepal is not on Singapore's list of countries whose citizens need a visa, so a Nepali passport holder on holiday applies for nothing in advance. You fill in the free SG Arrival Card within three days before you land, and the officer at Changi grants a visit pass, sent to you by email, that says how long you may stay. Your passport must be valid for at least six months, and you should carry your return ticket, hotel booking and proof of money.
No. Australia is not on Singapore's list of countries whose citizens need a visa either. An Australian passport holder fills in the same free SG Arrival Card within three days before arriving, and the officer at the border grants the visit pass.
Two costs make up the trip: the package and the flight. There is no visa fee. The package prices on this page cover everything in Singapore per person: the hotel, transfers, and the tours and tickets in the itinerary. Singapore's hotels cost more than those in Thailand or Malaysia, which is most of the difference in price. Tell us your dates and we quote the flight from Kathmandu with the package.
Yes. Kathmandu has non-stop flights to Changi, which take about five hours. The main one leaves Kathmandu late at night and lands early in the morning, so your first day in Singapore starts before your hotel room is ready; we hold your bags and plan a gentle first day. Flights that change in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok are often cheaper. Buy those on one ticket, so that you stay in the transit area and never need a Malaysian or Thai visa.
Three nights covers the city tour, Gardens by the Bay and an afternoon on Sentosa. Four nights adds a full day at Universal Studios and the Night Safari, and is the trip most first-time visitors want. Five nights suits families who want the zoo and the aquarium as well, or couples who want two nights on Sentosa. Singapore is small, so every outing is a day trip from one hotel.
Singapore is warm in every month, about 31 to 33 degrees by day and 23 to 25 at night, so the choice is about rain. February is the driest month, and late January to early March is relatively dry and breezy. November to early January is the wettest time, with spells of heavy rain. In the other months rain usually comes as an afternoon thunderstorm that passes. Most of what a visitor does has a roof, so no month is a bad one.
Yes, with an umbrella. October and November bring afternoon and evening thunderstorms, but the mornings are usually clear, and the domes at Gardens by the Bay, the malls, the aquarium and much of Universal Studios are under cover. Flights from Kathmandu cost most around both festivals, so book two to three months ahead.
Yes, if the route goes one way. Singapore needs no visa, so you can enter it as often as you like with a new arrival card each time. Malaysia's eVISA allows a Nepali passport one entry, so fly into one country and home from the other: into Singapore and home from Kuala Lumpur, or the other way round. A route that goes back into Malaysia needs a second visa. Our Singapore and Malaysia trips are planned this way.
Both, because Universal Studios is on Sentosa. The park takes a full day on its own. The rest of the island, with its beaches, the cable car, the aquarium, the luge and the Wings of Time show, fills another afternoon and evening. On a three-night trip choose one; from four nights we include both.
Easily. Little India, around Serangoon Road, has pure-vegetarian South and North Indian restaurants, and the Tekka Centre hawker centre there sells vegetarian thosai and curries for a few dollars. There are Nepali restaurants serving momo, sukuti and dal bhat in the same area, near Little India station. Hawker centres across the city mark their vegetarian stalls.
Yes. Every trip here is a starting point. We can add nights, move you to a hotel on Sentosa or by Marina Bay, add Universal Studios, the Night Safari or the zoo, or join a route to Malaysia, and we requote the price for the changes.
Take US dollars from a bank in Nepal, bought against your passport and ticket, and change them at a licensed money changer in Singapore. One Singapore dollar is about NPR 119. The bank's stamp on at least USD 500 is also what immigration at Tribhuvan airport asks a tourist to show. Cards are taken almost everywhere in Singapore, but Nepal Rastra Bank caps what a Nepali card can spend abroad, so ask your bank how much of the limit you have.
No. The High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi covers Nepal. You do not need it for a holiday, because a Nepali passport needs no visa for Singapore.
No. The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok covers Singapore. Contact it for a lost passport or anything else that needs the Nepali government. In Singapore, the police number is 999 and the ambulance 995.
