Bali Visa for Nepalese 2026: Fee, Documents and Arrival Card
The Bali visa for Nepalese travellers is Indonesia's C1 tourist e-visa, and it has to be approved before you fly. The government fee is IDR 1,000,000 (about NPR 8,600), it lets you stay up to 60 days, it is usually issued within five working days, and you need at least USD 2,000 in your bank account to qualify. A Nepali passport is not eligible for visa on arrival, so the visa cannot be sorted out at Bali airport.
Two more steps come with every Bali trip, and neither is optional. Every traveller fills in the free All Indonesia arrival card in the three days before landing, and everyone arriving in Bali pays the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000, about NPR 1,300. Fees are set in Indonesian rupiah, so the rupee amounts on this page are approximate. We checked the fees and rules on this page in September 2026.
| What you need for Bali | What it costs | When to do it |
|---|---|---|
| C1 tourist e-visa, single entry, 60 days | IDR 1,000,000, about NPR 8,600, plus card charges | Two to three weeks before you fly, and no more than 90 days before. |
| All Indonesia arrival card | Free | Within the three days before you land. |
| Bali tourist levy | IDR 150,000, about NPR 1,300 per person | Before you travel, or on arrival. |
| Proof of funds for the visa | At least USD 2,000 in your bank, about NPR 307,000 | It has to be there for the three months before you apply. |
Do Nepalese citizens need a visa for Bali?
Yes. Nepali citizens need a tourist visa approved before departure, because Nepal is on neither Indonesia's visa-free list nor its visa-on-arrival list. On the official Indonesian e-Visa portal, a Nepali passport can apply for two tourist visas: the C1 single-entry visa and the D1 multiple-entry visa. Visa on arrival is not available.
Bali has no visa of its own. It is a province of Indonesia, so the Indonesian visa covers Bali, Lombok, Jakarta and everywhere else in the country.
Indian passport holders can get a visa on arrival in Indonesia, but Nepali passport holders cannot. Whatever you have heard about getting the visa at Denpasar airport does not apply to a Nepali passport.
Airlines check this at the counter in Kathmandu. Without an approved e-visa, you will not be allowed to board.
How much does the Bali visa cost for Nepalese?
The government fee for the C1 tourist visa is IDR 1,000,000, which is about NPR 8,600. Paying by card adds a charge from your bank on top. The payment page shows the final total before you pay, and when we apply on your behalf we confirm that amount with you first.
The visa is one part of the budget. For flights, hotels and daily spending, read our guide to what a Bali trip costs from Nepal.
| Cost | Amount | Who it is paid to |
|---|---|---|
| C1 tourist visa fee | IDR 1,000,000, about NPR 8,600 | Indonesian immigration, online, by international card. |
| Card charge | Set by your bank | Your bank adds it on top of the visa fee. |
| Bali tourist levy | IDR 150,000, about NPR 1,300 | The Bali provincial government. It is separate from the visa. |
| All Indonesia arrival card | Free | Nobody. Any site asking for money is not official. |
What documents does the Bali visa need?
The C1 visa needs three documents: a passport valid for at least six months, a recent colour photograph, and a personal bank statement showing at least USD 2,000 over the last three months. The statement has to show your name, the period it covers and the balance.
A strong application includes more than the minimum. A return ticket, a hotel booking, a cover letter and sometimes an employment letter all show that the trip is a genuine holiday, and a file like that is harder to refuse. That is why we prepare them as part of every Bali visa we handle. What you should not do is buy non-refundable flights before the visa is approved. Get a flight reservation or a refundable fare for the application, and pay for the real ticket once the visa is in your inbox.
Two checks save a lot of trouble. The name and date of birth on your form have to match your passport exactly. And the photo has to be recent, in colour, on a plain background.
How much bank balance do you need for a Bali visa from Nepal?
Indonesia asks for at least USD 2,000, not a fixed amount in Nepali rupees, so the rupee figure you need changes with the exchange rate. The requirement is a personal bank statement showing a minimum of USD 2,000, or the equivalent, across the last three months. At Nepal Rastra Bank's selling rate of NPR 153.61 to the dollar in late September 2026, USD 2,000 comes to NPR 307,220. That means a balance of NPR 300,000 is not enough on its own: it is worth only about USD 1,953, which is short of the rule. Keep at least NPR 310,000 in the account, and more if the rupee weakens before you apply. The money has to sit there for the whole three-month period. A large deposit made just before you apply looks borrowed, and it is one of the easiest reasons for a visa officer to refuse you. Nepal Rastra Bank publishes its exchange rates every day, so check the dollar rate on the day you print your statement.
If you are travelling as a couple or a family and one person's account is covering everyone, a marriage or birth certificate is needed to show the relationship. Each person's application needs its own proof of funds.
How do you apply for the Bali visa online from Nepal?
You apply on the Indonesian government's e-Visa portal, and the whole process is online. Indonesia has no embassy in Kathmandu. Its embassy in Dhaka covers Nepal, so there is no office to hand your passport in to, and no need for one.
- Open the official portal. The address is evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Anything else is not the government, even if it looks official.
- Choose your visa. Pick Nepal as your passport, then tourism as the purpose, then the C1 tourist single-entry visa.
- Create an account and fill in the form. Type your details exactly as they appear in your passport.
- Upload your documents. Passport page, photo and bank statement.
- Pay online. You need a card that works for international payments, such as Visa or Mastercard.
- Wait for the email. The approved e-visa arrives as a PDF. Print a copy and keep it on your phone too.
The payment step is where a Nepali card can fail you. Nepal Rastra Bank caps personal international card spending at USD 500 a year. The visa fee is only about USD 56, but if subscriptions and hotel bookings have already used most of your allowance, the payment will be declined. Ask your bank how much of your limit is left before you start.
How long does the Bali visa take?
Most tourist e-visas are processed within five working days, but plan for up to 12 in case immigration asks for more documents. Most delays come from a file that is incomplete or does not match the passport exactly, which is why we check every document before submitting.
Apply two to three weeks before your flight. There is also a limit in the other direction. Once the visa is issued, you must enter Indonesia within 90 days or it expires. Applying three months early for a Dashain trip can mean paying twice.
Your time in the country is counted separately. The C1 visa gives you 60 days from the day you land, and it can be extended from inside Indonesia at an immigration office. Do not overstay: the charge is IDR 1,000,000 per person for every day over, about NPR 8,600 a day.
Which visa is right for you, C1 or D1?
For a normal holiday, the C1 single-entry visa is the right one. The D1 multiple-entry visa only makes sense if you will visit Indonesia several times, for example to see family.
| Visa | Government fee | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| C1 tourist, single entry | IDR 1,000,000, about NPR 8,600 | One entry and up to 60 days. This is the one for a Bali holiday. |
| D1 tourist, multiple entry, 1 year | IDR 3,000,000, about NPR 25,700 | As many entries as you like for a year, up to 60 days each time. |
| D1 tourist, multiple entry, 2 years | IDR 5,000,000, about NPR 42,900 | The same, for two years. |
| D1 tourist, multiple entry, 5 years | IDR 10,000,000, about NPR 85,700 | The same, for five years. |
The D1 needs the same USD 2,000 proof of funds, and it also asks for a document that explains your connection to Indonesia, such as an invitation or a letter from a spouse or parent. The 1-year D1 only pays off if you are sure of at least three visits within that year.
Do you need an arrival card for Bali?
Yes. Every traveller has to fill in the All Indonesia arrival card online within the three days before arriving, and it is free. You fill it in at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id.
The card is not a visa and does not replace one. It combines the old immigration, customs and health forms into a single online form. You enter your passport and flight details, where you are staying, and anything you need to declare. It takes a few minutes, and you get a QR code by email to show at the airport.
- Each person needs their own card, children included. Family members can be added to one application, but each gets a separate QR code.
- Do not fill it in too early. The window opens three days before you arrive, not three days before you leave Kathmandu. With a long connection, those can be different days.
- Ignore any site that asks you to pay for it. The official card is free, and the only official address ends in imigrasi.go.id.
What is the Bali tourist levy, and is it part of the visa?
The Bali tourist levy is a separate charge of IDR 150,000 per person, about NPR 1,300, and it has nothing to do with your visa. The Bali provincial government collects it to pay for protecting Balinese culture and the environment. Every foreign visitor pays it, children included, once per visit.
Pay it on the government's Love Bali portal before you travel. The voucher arrives by email as a QR code. Keep it on your phone, because it can be checked at some temples and attractions as well as at the airport. Your bank may add a card charge, and the payment counts toward the same USD 500 card allowance mentioned above.
If you fly into Jakarta or another Indonesian city and never go to Bali, you do not pay it.
How Travel Nepal Holidays handles your Bali visa
We prepare, check and submit the C1 e-visa for you from Kathmandu, and we pay the fee online so your card allowance is not touched. You send us your passport, photo and bank statement, and we build the rest of the file around them.
- Document check before submission. We match every detail to your passport and make sure your statement clears USD 2,000 at the current rate, so the application goes in right the first time.
- The supporting file. Cover letter, flight reservation and hotel booking, so you do not buy non-refundable tickets before the visa is approved.
- Couples and families. We sort out the marriage and birth certificates needed when one account covers more than one traveller.
- Payment. We pay the government fee, so a Nepali card near its USD 500 limit is not a problem.
- Arrival card and levy. We tell you exactly when to fill in the arrival card and send you the Love Bali levy link, so nothing is missed at Denpasar.
Bali visa: common questions
The C1 tourist e-visa costs IDR 1,000,000, about NPR 8,600, paid online to Indonesian immigration, plus your bank's card charge. The Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000, about NPR 1,300, is paid separately. The arrival card is free.

Not on a Nepali passport. Nepal is not on Indonesia's visa-free list, so every Nepali traveller, including children, needs an approved e-visa before departure.
Not with a Nepali passport. Indonesia offers visa on arrival to some nationalities, including India, but Nepal is not one of them. Airlines in Kathmandu will not board you without an approved e-visa.
Two things besides your visa. The first is the All Indonesia arrival card, which you fill in online at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id within the three days before you arrive. It is free, and each person, including children, needs their own. The second is the Bali tourist levy, which you pay on the Love Bali portal. Keep both QR codes on your phone.
Indonesia can change visa fees and rules at short notice. The e-Visa payment page always shows the current amount, and we confirm it with you before applying on your behalf.
