Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi

About This Package
Eight days is the shortest trip that covers the three places Malaysia is known for: the capital, the old trading town and the island. Each leg is a flight of an hour or less, so little of the week is lost to travel.
Kuala Lumpur gets three nights, for the city tour and the day at Batu Caves and Genting Highlands. Penang gets two, for George Town's shophouse streets and wall paintings, Kek Lok Si temple and the funicular up Penang Hill. Langkawi gets the last two, for the cable car and Sky Bridge, the boat to Dayang Bunting lake, and a beach to end on.
The order matters. We finish on the island so that the rest comes last, and you fly home from Langkawi through Kuala Lumpur. If you would rather stay longer in fewer places, Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi is the same trip without Penang, and Kuala Lumpur and Penang is the same trip without the island.

Practical Tips
- Fill in the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card online within three days before you land. It is separate from the eVISA and you need both.
- We fly between Penang and Langkawi. The direct ferry between the two islands no longer runs, whatever older guides say.
- The Langkawi cable car stops in strong wind and closes for maintenance for about two weeks each July. If it is closed on your day we move it to another day of your stay.
- Batu Caves has 272 steps and asks you to cover your shoulders and knees. Keep food and loose items in a closed bag, because the monkeys take them.
