Kuala Lumpur and Genting Short Break

About This Package
This is the shortest Malaysia trip we plan and our lowest-priced one. It fits into four days of leave because the flight from Kathmandu is direct, and it covers the three things most first-time visitors come for: the Petronas Twin Towers, Batu Caves and Genting Highlands.
You stay three nights in one hotel in central Kuala Lumpur, so nothing is repacked. One morning is the city tour. One full day goes north, first to Batu Caves, where the Murugan statue stands beside the steps to the temple cave, and then up to Genting Highlands by cable car, where the air is cool and the resort sits in the cloud.
The afternoons and evenings are yours, and Kuala Lumpur is an easy city for them: the malls of Bukit Bintang, the street food on Jalan Alor, and Little India in Brickfields for a vegetarian meal. If you have one more day, Kuala Lumpur, Genting and Malacca adds the old port city.

Visa & Practical Info
Practical Tips
- Fill in the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card online within three days before you land. It is separate from the eVISA and you need both.
- Batu Caves has 272 steps and asks you to cover your shoulders and knees. Keep food and loose items in a closed bag, because the monkeys take them.
- Genting is about ten degrees cooler than Kuala Lumpur, so carry a light jacket. The cable cars close for a few days of maintenance several times a year; when one is closed we use the other or go up by road.
