Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta
4.9 / 5from 61 Google reviewsPackage Overview
About This Package
The south of Vietnam on its own: four nights in Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by most people who live there, with the two day trips everyone takes from it. The city is warm all year, and this trip works in the months when the north is cold.
One morning is the Cu Chi tunnels, the network dug during the war, where a section has been widened so that visitors can walk through. One day is the Mekong Delta: a motor boat on the river, a rowing boat along the narrow canals, an orchard, and a workshop where coconut candy is made. The city tour covers the French-built centre and the War Remnants Museum. One day is free for Ben Thanh market, the malls and the rooftop bars.
It pairs well with a beach: Phu Quoc is a 50-minute flight away.

Practical Tips
- Put Tan Son Nhat, Ho Chi Minh City, as the entry airport on your e-visa.
- Keep your phone and bag on the side away from the road when walking. Bag snatching from motorbikes happens in the centre.
- Use Grab or a Vinasun or Mai Linh taxi. Do not take a taxi that approaches you at the market.
