About This Package

The trip that joins the two halves of Vietnam most travellers ask for: the north, with Hanoi and a night on Ha Long Bay, and the centre, with the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills and the lantern-lit old town of Hoi An. The flight from Hanoi to Da Nang, about an hour and a quarter, is included.

Hanoi gets a full city day and the overnight cruise. In Da Nang you stay near My Khe beach. One day goes up to Ba Na Hills by cable car, for the Golden Bridge, the French village and the cool air at 1,400 metres. The last afternoon is Hoi An: the Japanese Covered Bridge, the old merchant houses, and a rowing boat among the lanterns on the river after dark.

Six days is enough for both regions without rushing. Vietnam North to South adds Ho Chi Minh City.

Practical Tips

Put Noi Bai, Hanoi, as the entry airport on your e-visa and fly home from Da Nang. One e-visa covers both.
Ba Na Hills is 1,400 metres up and often cool and misty. Take a light jacket and go early, before the day-trip crowds.
Hoi An's old town is closed to cars, so the last part is on foot. Comfortable shoes help.
